Border Crossing
Sessions
BORDER Framework™
Reflective sessions for those navigating thresholds between disciplines, places, selves, or seasons of life. A space to think slowly and speak without forced resolution.
Border Crossing Sessions are a distinct coaching format within Material Memory Studio. They are designed for people who find themselves in-between — between roles, identities, countries, disciplines, or chapters of life — and who need a space to hold that complexity without being moved toward a premature answer.
Each session is grounded in the BORDER Framework™ — a reflective structure developed by Jay Lee. It is a held, unhurried conversation that moves at the pace of genuine inquiry. Not a consultation. Not a performance.
Rather than rushing toward clarity, the session helps identify the border you are actually standing in — psychological, professional, relational, geographic, or economic.
Well-suited for artists, designers, researchers, founders, and professionals moving across disciplines, geographies, or life chapters, and who resist easy categorisation.
Sessions are now available on Saturdays by appointment. A small, intentional opening — not a large-scale launch.

For the 60-minute session, the reflection print is distilled in a more concise form at the close of the session. For the 90-minute session, the reflection language is developed more collaboratively, with time to refine the statement together before printing.
What You Take Away
At the close of the session, your words are distilled in-studio with AI as a supporting tool — not as the center of the experience, but as a way to help you leave with a more tangible reflection of your crossing.
Both formats include the symbolic portrait, reflection print, and private 30-day Reflection Companion access; the 90-minute session allows more depth and development in the reflection print.
Output 01
Border Crossing Portrait
A symbolic portrait centered on a body part or personal object that represents your current threshold — photographed in the studio and printed on site.
Output 02
Border Crossing Reflection Print
A personalized reflection print, shaped from the session conversation and refined in-studio with AI as a supporting tool. Depending on the session, this may include a one-line threshold statement, a brief reflection sheet, or a conceptual print combining image and language.
Possible reflection elements
In some sessions, this may also take the form of a one-line threshold statement — a distilled phrase that helps the participant remember the crossing in their own language.
Voices
A meaningful session in which I discovered my own inner criteria — things buried within me that I had never consciously recognised.
